Blooming Gorgeous - Top Tips For Your Garden

Blooming Gorgeous

It’s the time of year when we venture out to enjoy the garden. Knee-length grass, out-of-control borders and unloved garden furniture don’t make for the most relaxing of environments to enjoy your evening gin and tonic in. Fear not! We have some top tips for some simple ways you can transform your outside space this summer and make your garden a place you want to relax in.

The basics

First of all, if you have a lawn, mow it. Like making the bed, this is the easiest way of instantly making the space look more tidy and under control. If you’re feeling adventurous, a traditional striped lawn looks the business.

If you’ve a patio or paved area, a blast with the pressure washer will leave it looking refreshed and you’ll be amazed at the difference it makes!

Once you’ve got the garden under control, keep on top of the weeds with our forged steel garden hoe. Exceptionally efficient at cutting through weeds or cutting trenches for seeds, it’s one item in our garden shed we really couldn’t do without!

Replace any grotty or broken garden furniture and invest in some covers so that you can protect your outdoor tables, chairs and loungers through the extremes of weather and temperature. It will help them last for many seasons to come.

Brighten up

Our vibrant Nicola Spring plant pots add a splash of colour all year round, even when the sun isn’t shining and the flowers are yet to bloom. Available in a range of colours and sizes we think they look stunning grouped together in shady corners or mixed among plain plant pots.

Of course, it’s even more vital to water your plants when they’re in pots especially with this extremely good weather we’ve been having. Set up a sprinkler and rest safe in the knowledge that they’re being taken care of. Our Silverline irrigation system is easy to use and extremely economical, meaning that it can even be used in most hose pipe bans, just be sure to check with your local council if there’s a ban on.

Throw some shade

Our sun shades are the perfect way to add some shelter from the sun or a light sprinkling of rain depending on what the weather decides to throw at you. Enjoy an alfresco lunch beneath one of our stylish sun sail shades. Easy to put up and also to store over the winter, they’re a practical and stylish alternative to a traditional sun parasol.

If you’re planning a gathering our gazebos make the ideal spot to set up your bar or even just create a separate chill out zone. They’re easy to put up and the waterproof canopy means that your guests will stay dry even when the weather’s against you.

Ignite the night

Enjoy your garden late into the night, adding some atmosphere with our garden torches. We have a wide selection of shapes and sizes to suit all gardens. Light up a path between different areas in your garden or just have them lighting the corners of your lawn.

A fire pit is also a great addition to your garden, not only because they look beautiful but because they’re useful too, keeping us warm on chilly evenings. We’re don’t mind the odd marshmallow toasting session either!

We hope that’s given you plenty of inspiration to make your garden the place to be this summer! Take a look at our full garden range here.
