Fun Ways to Adopt a More Eco-Friendly Lifestyle

Begin your journey to a more eco-friendly lifestyle with just a few small changes.

In the current age we are living in, it is becoming more and more important for people to start doing their bit for the environment. This for a lot of people can seem quite daunting, the idea of changing your lifestyle is understandably quite scary. However, there’s no reason why you can’t start with baby steps! Unlike what most think, adopting an eco-friendly lifestyle doesn’t mean you need to completely stop doing the things you enjoy. There are plenty of small things you can do to help achieve a more eco-friendly lifestyle.

Eco-friendly products that help protect the environment and give you a more eco-friendly lifestyle.

Bamboo plates -

There are a huge number of alternative type products that have been developed in a much more eco-friendly way and with more environmentally friendly materials. These can replace your current stuff and help you achieve a more eco-friendly lifestyle. A good example of this is your dining and dinner sets. A great alternative to kitchen accessories is bamboo based products.  Bamboo is a highly renewable resource, possessing incredible strength and natural anti-bacterial properties that make it perfect for use with food and drink. At Rinkit! We are proud to have the whole and complete bamboo dining experience, from cutlery to plates/bowls and even cups! Check out this Nicola Spring 42 Piece Bamboo Dinner Set, perfect for an eco-friendly dinner party, in which you can avoid the waste of paper plates, cups, bowls! And when the party's over, simply wipe clean with warm water and a non-abrasive cloth or sponge to have your dinnerware looking as good as new! They’re stylish and great for the environment! So it’s a win-win!

Compostable Bin Bags -

Did you know that it can take up to 1,000 years for 1 bin bag to decompose. A compostable bin bag on the other hand will begin to break down within weeks! These make the perfect liner for your normal bin as well as the compost bin. Imagine how much difference it could make if everyone changed to a compostable bag, huge! So why not try to make a tiny (but huge) difference yourself?

Methodical Storage & Zero Waste

One small change that can help you achieve a more eco-friendly lifestyle is thinking of ways in which you can reduce the amounts of wasted material when shopping for supplies. Let me start by giving you an example. Cereal, this is a food product that most of the western world start their day with. There are many different types for all sorts of people’s taste preferences, this meaning a large family may have a whole cupboard filled with all sorts of cereal boxes. Consider using some air tight storage containers to save wasted materials such as plastic and cardboard, and to help keep your cereal stay fresher for longer! At Rinkit we have a large range of storage container, check out these rather aesthetically pleasing Argon Tableware 8 Piece Plastic Food Storage Containers Set - 4 Sizes

There are also now a lot of Zero-waste shops opening up which allow you to bring your own containers and fill up on your cereals, pastas, fruit & nuts without wasting any sort of materials! If you start doing this one small change you can really help the environment and begin your eco-friendly lifestyles. See! Baby steps.
