Here at Rinkit we are often asked about our colourful homewares range Nicola Spring, and more specifically we are often asked “Who is Nicola Spring?” Being new to the business I decided to find out more.
The story goes back to the first signs of spring in 2011.
Nicola Lowe who had worked at Rinkit with her brother Rob and husband Richard was setting about making her house the perfect family home and had a very specific look in mind; to add colour and texture every room - with a feminine style.
When Nicola could not find anything off the shelf that met her needs, she decided to set about making a small range of products for herself. It was spring, and Nicola wanted a name to sum up this new homewares brand, the bright colours and eye-catching designs, and Nicola Spring was born!
The first products Nicola developed were door plaques, ideal for all doors around the home. Gradually businesses such as restaurants spotted these and started placing orders, which allowed Nicola to grow her range into clocks, flower pots, photo frames and much more.
Nicola was sourcing her products and packing customers' orders in the very home that inspired her to create the range, but as the brand became more popular and order volumes increased, Rinkit took on the day to day management of the brand to respond to the increased demand whilst ensuring orders were delivered with the same care and attention.
The brand was ultimately brought in-house, adding hand printed crockery to the growing range giving every mug or bowl a unique hand-finished look making each item a true “one off”. A range of ceramic door knobs was added due to demand, which allows subtle refreshing of any kitchen or side table unit.
As the brand evolves, Nicola still keeps a keen eye on the range as it develops at Rinkit, to ensure that it retains the quality and values around which it was created – Inspired fresh designs, which look fantastic in any home.
