Time for a Daiquiri
When I say Daiquiri, what do you think of? Original Lime? Strawberry perhaps? What about jazzing it up... Stick with me here because I’m about to get you really excited.
So as we all know a daiquiri is made up from the same small list of ingredients, but you can add whatever fruit flavouring you like onto it, so really you are creating your own personal flavoured daiquiri party! This screams summer cocktail.
Base Daiquiri Ingredients
- 40ml White rum
- 30ml Lime juice
- 20ml Simple syrup
- Then add whatever floats your boat. (Fruit)
Mix altogether in a cocktail shaker and add lots of ice.
So let's think outside the box, Mango. Orange. Is coconut and pineapple too far? Maybe a summer berry mix. Experiment, try new things, you never know what you might come up with and it could change your taste buds forever, in the best of ways.
You’ll need a generous size glass for all your fruit, ice and liquids. These types of cocktails glasses are ideal - Bormioli Rocco Ypsilon Margarita Cocktail Glasses/Bormioli Rocco Premium Gin & Tonic Cocktail Glasses.
Side note - Kind of obvious but the more fruit you add the more healthy you’re being and it’s practically a fruit salad.
The Pornstar Martini
Finally to finish us all off we have the powerful Pornstar Martini. Now this is one of those drinks everybody just loves. Even the most manliest of men, 1 sip of these and they will be dancing on a cloud. Incredibly easy to make and personally I double or triple the recipe because people just down them like juice (yes I am talking about myself). So always make enough for more and just don’t stop until you and all your guests are on the floor. They are also a crowd favourite as the popular type of cocktail glass is known around the world for it’s sassiness and suave shape.
Pornstar Martini Ingredients
- 2 ripe passion fruits (they should have a crinkly appearance)
- 60ml vanilla vodka
- 30ml passoa
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 1 tbsp sugar syrup
- Prosecco to serve
That is of course if you only want to serve 2 people… So keep that in mind.
Pornstar Martini Recipe
- Scoop the seeds from one of the passion fruits into the glass of a cocktail shaker
- Add the vodka, passoa, lime juice and sugar syrup
- Add a handful of ice and shake well
- Strain into 2 martini glasses, top up with prosecco, then add half a passion fruit to each
- Serve immediately
The classic martini shape is entirely the right type of cocktail glass as it’s elegant silhouette gives you the hepburn chic. Tip - Before making, fill the martini glass with ice so it chills the glass and keeps your drinks cooler for longer. Tip out the ice when you are ready to serve up.
So there you go, my not so classic but fun list of cocktails to get your party pumping. I sincerely hope you try them all and wake up feeling regretful of your behaviour. That’s when you know you’ve had a good night!
